AWS consulting that starts with your workloads, not a reference architecture
DEV3LOPCOM, LLC is an Austin, Texas consultancy that designs, builds, and fixes AWS environments. We work directly in your account: VPCs, ECS and EKS, Lambda, RDS and Aurora, S3, Glue, Redshift, CloudWatch, and the IAM policies that hold it all together. Our background is data-heavy — we have built pipelines processing trillions of records for Nielsen and run streaming workloads for ExxonMobil — so we care about throughput, cost per query, and what happens at 3 a.m. when a job fails.
We are 100% onshore. The people you meet on the first call are the people writing the Terraform.
How an engagement runs
Every project follows the same arc: assess, design, build, hand off.
Assess. We read your bill before we read your code. Cost Explorer, CloudWatch metrics, and a walk through the architecture usually surface the real problems in the first week — oversized instances, unpartitioned S3 data feeding expensive scans, NAT gateway traffic nobody planned for.
Design. We propose the smallest change that fixes the problem. Sometimes that is a migration to Graviton and Savings Plans. Sometimes it is replacing a fleet of EC2 cron boxes with Step Functions and Lambda. We write the trade-offs down: serverless is cheaper at low volume and more expensive at sustained load, and we will show you the crossover math instead of a slogan.
Build. Everything ships as infrastructure as code — Terraform or CloudFormation — with CI/CD pipelines so deploys are reviewable and repeatable. No console-clicked resources that only one engineer understands.
Hand off. Documentation, runbooks, and working sessions with your team. We measure success by whether you still need us, and the honest goal is that you should not.
Problems we fix on AWS
- EC2 fleets sized for peak traffic that runs two hours a day — moved to autoscaling groups, Fargate, or scheduled scaling.
- RDS instances doing analytics work they were never built for — offloaded to Redshift or Athena over partitioned Parquet in S3.
- Deployments that require a specific person and a prayer — replaced with CodePipeline or GitHub Actions plus IaC.
- Data pipelines held together by cron and CSV drops — rebuilt on Glue, Step Functions, or EventBridge. If the pipeline itself is the core problem, that is our home turf: see our data pipeline consulting services.
- IAM sprawl: wildcard policies, shared credentials, no boundary between prod and dev. We tighten to least privilege without breaking the apps that depend on the old permissions.
Why dev3lop
Our founder is a former Tableau Software Professional Services consultant, and the practice grew up around data and analytics work for companies like GoPro, ExxonMobil, and Nielsen. That shapes how we do cloud: infrastructure is only good if the reporting on top of it is fast, trustworthy, and cheap to run. We are not an AWS reseller and we do not claim partner tiers — we bill for engineering, so our only incentive is an environment that works. Running Microsoft or Google alongside AWS? We cover Azure and GCP too, and multi-cloud reality is normal in our engagements.
